Horses * Riding Lessons * Mare Care & Foaling * Training I began my 'work' in the horse industry about 30 years ago, riding Morgans for some breeders who were friends of mine. Lessons for daughters of other friends evolved, as my experience gained breadth and depth. Then, the acquisition of the handsome Arabian stallion, Newmars Nari, launched me headlong into showing, training, breeding, and foaling....... and a lifetime of loving memories, as he carried me through two pregnancies, and taught my two children (and many others) how to ride and care for a horse, from the heart. The love for these majestic creatures that abounded in me as a child, fairly consumed me at that point, as I grew in knowledge and understanding of the power, capability, and adaptability of the amazing equine. The more I truly understood the horse, the more patient and adept at training them I became. There is not much on this earth that compares to the feeling of watching a mare give birth and then imprinting the foal, giving it the best, least traumatic 'first steps' in its new human-dominated environment. We expect so much of our equine friends..... we must also be willing to deliver as much back to them, caring for their well-being, as well as for their health. We must teach them trust and respect, and they will give back a lifetime of willing 'servitude' for our riding enjoyment and competitive spirits, and affectionate companionship for our consolation and contemplation times...... they make very good "quiet friends". Please feel free to contact me for further information or ask more about any of the services I offer, pertaining to horses and equine activities. I hope to soon offer Therapeutic Riding and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, to further spread understanding and appreciation of our friend, Equus.
